Supreme has been the subject of much internet chatter lately regarding the label’s mainstreaming and what it means for streetwear (read this excellent Four Pins article for reference). Regardless of how you feel about the NYC staple the North Face collaborations are always fire and this s/s 2013 offering is no different: I’ll take the grey jackets without a second thought, and the backpack. The pricepoint may be what makes the decision for most people but there is really no going wrong with this ongoing partnership.

Nanamica Performance Outfits Winter 2011

Here is a look at Nanamica and their ‘Performance Outfits’ winter 2011 collection. I can’t say enough good things about this label, ultra high quality/technical garments with great styling. I’m also liking this presentation of the collection, showing the product itself as well as some of the machinery, production methods, and testing that goes into the collection. Keep reading for a look at the rest of the range…

The North Face Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Here’s a studio-slick f/w ’11 lookbook from The North Face, which appears to be an editorial although I haven’t been able to discern the source. I figure editorial because I’m doubtful mainline TNF would a) shoot a lookbook or b) use a babyface model if they did. That being said, I’m feeling the styling and setup here, and as per always with The North Face there’s some killer pieces, such as the leather brim hat featured above and all the bags seen throughout. Who am I kidding, I like pretty much everything here, the 84/85 boys are big TNF fans, a perfect balance of classic styling with the high functionality you need to function outdoors during the westcoast winter. More after the jump, click pics for full size.

Supreme x The North Face Spring/Summer 2011 First Release

Here’s the first look at the Supreme x The North Face collection for the s/s 2011 season. One of the longest-running collaborations in the streetwear game, this is yet another solid offering; the pullover anoraks are an early highlight, loving the check colorways and center flap pocket. The most common criticism of this collab is ‘slap a Supreme logo on it then charge a ton for the product’ but hey, if that’s your train of thought, then the line probably isn’t meant for you. This is just the first drop, look for more to come soon… hit the jump for hats and more looks at the jackets and sleeping bags.

The North Face Purple Fall/Winter 2010

The North Face Purple Label is a collection that both Kevin and I drool over equally. The line is basically only available to the Japanese market so we get a view of the fall/winter 2010 collection from Japanese retailer Digital Mountain. The pieces feature that perfect 70’s mountaineering styling that we have come to love so much. The jackets are the focal point in the collection for me, but the vests and bag range look amazing as well. Keep reading for the full looks…

Bedwin x The North Face: F/W 2010 Products

Recently we featured the Bedwin & the Heartbreakers fall/winter 2010 collection, with one of my favorite parts being the North Face collaboration pieces. So i decided to take a closer look at this collection within a collection. I have become a big fan of technical outerwear pieces, especially The North Face  after introducing a ‘Summit Series’ jacket into my rotation last winter. The Bedwin x North Face collab looks great with two outerwear styles, one puffer and one gore-tex shell and a technical backpack as well. I dig the execution on the three pieces and love how they look put together with the rest of the collection.

Fall/Winter Technical Outerwear Roundup

Picture 2

If you roll and like Brendan and I, you’re gonna need a dependable waterproof jacket for the fall/winter seasons. Riding your bike through the cold, rainy months on the west coast isn’t for the faint of heart; however, a good collection of technical outerwear pieces can make life a bit more bearable. You’re gonna need gloves, long-johns, socks, a bag, but above all else, a jacket you can pretty much live in. Last year my soft-shell from Mountain Equipment Co-op kept me going (along with my trusty black toque), but this year I want to add a fully waterproof shell to the rotation, complete with a built-in hood. Obviously I always go for black above all else, but a charcoal grey, oxblood, or dark navy colorway would be welcome as well. I think Arcteryx is the goal, but their price points can be scary… so it may be right back to MEC. Hit the jump for offerings from the two previously mentioned brands, as well as pieces from Mishka, The North Face, and Patagonia
