Cluct Spring 2012 Collection

Cluct are back with a look at their ‘Authentic Wear’ for the upcoming spring 2012 season. Another roll out of Japanese/Americana looks, from overalls, chinos, striped tees, flannels to henleys, all the ‘new basic wear’ is there. One thing I find interesting with this label and a few other Japanese labels is the fact that they produce 4 collections a year, keeping each collection tight but still well rounded. I would basically mess with this entire collection, keep reading for looks at the pieces themselves…

Alife Spring 2011

Long running NYC streetwear label Alife is back with these spring 2011 offerings, with another classic take on the American sportswear styles they’ve been pioneering for over a decade. I couldn’t find info on whether or not the clothes are still made by the CYC manufacturing corp. in Vancouver, but looking at the detailing on the trousers and shorts, I’d say yes. So, you get made in Canada product from a line that’s been doing it (and doing it well) for a lot longer than their jockers… I’d say that’s another win for Alife. Click though for more.

Black Scale Spring 2011 Lookbook

San Francisco-based label Black Scale recently released this lookbook for their spring 2011 run, and while I’m not super familiar with the line I definitely like what’s going on here. Entitled the THE BLVCK PRINT, the collection features a monochromatic take on militaria and streetwear, which may be a bit heavy for some spring/summer climates but would work just fine for us Pacific Northwesters. I really like the jackets, hoodies, and sweaters, unique cuts without being over designed, and the accessories are a good compliment to the pieces. Definitely a line I’ll be looking for in the future, keep reading for more form the Black Scale spring 11 lookbook.

Apolis Standard Issue Looks Spring 2011

Apolis have just released their new  ‘Standard Issue’ looks for the spring 2011 season. The collection consists of the label’s more basic pieces, with a large majority of it being made in Los Angeles. The looks and pieces are very solid, with a mix of work, military and utilitarian styling which the label is know well for. I love the field jacket and service blazer, and while I’m not usually one for polos i really like the chambray collar polo in the khaki colour. These are all great looking additions to the Standard Issue collection from the Apolis camp, keep reading for individual pieces from the collection…

New Balance for J.Crew Spring 2011

J. Crew continues to work with New Balance for their spring 2011 collection. After introducing two exclusive colors of the 1400 model last season, the Crew have expanded their color range with three new flips; grey, black, and orange. The all orange and black with orange are interesting choices but work well, and the greys are a New Bally classic…

As simple, contemporary, and wearable as it comes, J.Crew‘s initial spring 2011 offerings look like a logical move forward from their current f/w collection, with plenty of earth tones, layering, and fabric combinations.
