Vancouver Island’s Sitka has released their take on the classic ‘Hobo Knife’ made by USA knife maker CaseXX. To celebrate the release of the Hobo knife they have put together this great photo series and video to present the knife in all its glory; train yard lurking, fire warming and bean eating goodness.
“Some go where the wind takes them. Some push back against the breeze with all their might. Some, like the hobo, realizing that from strong winds grow strong trees, choose which gusts to jump aboard and which to let pass by.
Hobos were people who, in the face of economic hardship, took to trains in search of work and a living wage. What began as a means to survival became a way of life for some, and continues to this day.
The Hobo Knife is a tool to aid you on the road. With a removable knife, spoon and fork (complete with bottle opener), this knife has everything you need for life on the road or rails.
The Hobo Knife is a collaborative effort between Sitka and CaseXX, producing a USA-made, custom, one-of-a-kind, utility style knife. The Hobo knife features custom engraved Sitka ‘Hoboglyphs’ on the blade and Sitka branding on the oak handle.”
I am a bit biased on this one as I did the artwork for the knife but as a knife collector and lover myself this is a win/win for me. Head over to Sitka to grab yourself a Hobo and live the life…
Owner Operator is a line we’ve featured before on the blauge, NYC designed and produced. This summer 2013 collection presentation kills it, nothing quite like shredding the green in shorts and a button-up. As always everything from the brand is available online, and we encourage you to get rad with your credit card.
We previously featured the exclusive look at the new Champion Japan spring/summer 2013 ‘looks’ now we take a look at their actual lookbook for the season. Titled ‘The Southern Time Club’ the lookbook features their Made in USA, Reverse Weave, Rochester and Women’s collections items all together for this tropical lookbook. Although the lookbook has a bit to much of a PacSun feel to it, the items themselves are slammin’.
I feel like I have been waiting for this lookbook to drop for years, well months but anyways here is the latest from Left Field NYC and their spring/summer 2013 collection. This brand can do no wrong in my eyes, high quality garments all made in the USA accompanied by on point presentation. The last few lookbooks from the label have been some of the best out and this one continues that trend, straight up NYC styles; roll-downs, elevated subway stations, ball courts and tattoo parlours, damn rights. If your a regular here you know we’re down for Topo Designs. We pretty much feature them any time they are releasing any new products and for good reason; classic styles, modern functionality, quality craftsmanship and all made in the good ol’ USA. This time around they have released a new backpack to their arsenal, the Roll Top Backpack. I am a big fan of roll top style bags, very functional and usually they are pretty spacious. Head over to Topo for all the specs and to grab yourself one.
American denim label Tellason have started a new video feature on their blog entitled Tellason Stories. They have just released this new vid which features Seattle-based Todd Blubaugh, a photographer, designer and motorcycle builder. The video follows Todd on his daily routine as he explains his take on the motorcycle scene and his love for photography. Big ups to Tellason for this one, looking forward to the next instalment in this series.
