The MTL homies IDLEHAND are back with a new line of tees etc and this accompanying lookbook… the video may as well be titled ‘dudes with rad toys’ and hells yes, you know we back that. A lot of great people have a part of this ongoing project, cop in the shop when it gets the reup if you like the vibe.
Here is a lookbook to get you stoked on some fun in the sun action, The Critical Slide Society (TCSS) out of Austrailia have released this promo for the Nothern Summer collection for the 2013 season. Seeing as the line is Australian (reverse seasons from NA) they have to rework their collections a bit to fit with the North American markets, hence the Northern Summer 2013 collection. Really digging these guys’ vibe over the last while, laid back, where’s the next wave styles that the 8485 boys can back. Click through for product shots.
Here are a few looks that I like from the spring/summer 2013 collection by Steven Alan. As a dude spring and summer isn’t really that interesting of a season to dress for so its time to kick it with some classics, and thats exactly what Steven Alan brings.
This coming week marks the debut of Groundswell, a film produced by Patagonia in conjunction with the Raincoast Conservation Foundation. The goal of the documentry is to raise further awareness about resisting the Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline project, something your 84/85 boys feel very strongly about. From Jeremy Koreski, who shot throughout the 10 day journey along the coast,
‘I was amazed by the amount of life we saw there in such a short period of time—from sailing with a pod of orcas to sharing a river full of salmon with a mother grizzly and her two cubs, each day presented something special.’
‘I don’t believe that Canada should risk its coastline, wildlife and ocean for the sake of oil. I’m not going to kid myself by thinking we can live without oil, but we need to start looking at alternatives. On the Great Bear trip, I realized that even though I’ve spent most of my life on the coast, I’ve explored very little of it. I’d like to see so much more with having to worry about a major oil spill ruining this beautiful place.’
If you live on the west coast you can check out the film as follows:
Thursday November 1 – Shelter Restaurant Tofino
Friday November 2 – University of Victoria David Lam Auditorium
Saturday November 3 – Science World Vancouver
Wednesday November 7 – Patagonia Seattle
Thursday November 8 – Patagonia Portland
Saturday November 10 – Mill Valley at Proof Lab
Tuesday November 13 – Patagonia Santa Cruz
Thursday November 15 – Patagonia Ventura Tin Shed Courtyard
Saturday November 17 – Patagonia Cardiff
Saturday Dec 1 – Pender Island, BC
We’d be remiss if we didn’t post a new Brixton video, as every >2 min motion piece from the label is a reminder to do more dream chasing and less paper pushing. This vid features their holiday 2012 collection, the same rugged SoCal vibe the label has always pushed, something you can believe in.
Japanese basics label FilMelange has put out this super cool new lookbook for their autumn/winter 2012. The brand makes high quality garments with all their fabrics being developed and manufactured in house. They use organic wools and cashmere and manufacture their cotton t-shirts with loop wheel machines. I really like the presentation of this a/w ’12 collection, all in black and white with multiple angles and views of each look.
