Supreme x Vans S/S 2013

_MG_5004

SNE5_group03A_large‘The Vans #86 Lampin was originally produced in the USA in 1993, introduced at the time as an updated durable skate shoe. This summer, Supreme will be releasing a new version of the Vans Lampin.’ The first ‘Preme collab we’ve featured this season, can’t knock the ongoing quality of the Vans connection and these are no different: oxblood / navy colourway is my personal favourite.

Salomon – Designed For Freedom

Teetering on the edge of overblow, Solomon manages to keep this video on the inspiring and beautifully shot end of the spectrum, a treatise of why we seek the outdoors and the serenity of being embedded in nature. I’m no trail runner or nordic skier but I can appreciate the sentiment, I usually can’t turn off the mail client and browser quick enough at the end of the day and trade them for the soundtrack of a freewheel through country roads. Nice work from a brand who is wisely following the lead of other content creators in their marketplace.

Scout Brand via Makr

Scout is a new line of outdoors goods set to be launched in 2013. Based in Seattle and the brainchild of Ben Masters, the collection is bare-bones: single blade lock-back pocket knives, a chambray pocket square, an insulated selvedge denim and chambray field bed, a single pole tent and a boot in conjunction with Oak Street Bootmakers. Ok, bare-bones but in a gucci way. This photoshoot is the product of Florida’s Makr visiting Masters for a camping trip in the PNW Cascades, testing out the gear, beauty. All pieces available for pre-order now.

The River Spring/Summer 2013

Japanese/UK label The River here shows off their s/s 2013 collection, futuristic urban/nature looks that while overall land on the more precious side of the spectrum than we usually endorse, still has plenty strong moments and pieces. Not gonna lie, socks and sandals is a win for me here, as well as the restrained use of camo… keep reading for more.

Rancourt & Co. Fall 2012 Lookbook

As more and more brands continue to push their manufacturing overseas and out of North America it is great to see a line like Rancourt & Co. holding strong. The footwear brand is based in Maine and makes all their footwear in-house and all by hand. This lookbook for their fall 2012 collection is actually their inaugural lookbook for the line and the product is looking great. I like the range for the fall season and you know the quality is top notch. Read through for the rest of the lookbook.

UNDERCOVER x Nike GYAKUSOU F/W 2012 Behind The Scenes

Here is a look at the design process and ideas than inspired Jun Takahashi in his creation of the Gyakusou collection for f/w ’12, shot around the Togakushi shrine in Nagano. Stunning scenery and a great edit, the cedar looks very familiar…

UNDERCOVER x Nike GYAKUSOU Fall/Winter 2012

Of all the trends in menswear that we’ve covered over the years doing this here blauge I don’t think there’s any that I’ve been more stoked on than the reemergence of Nike as a complimentary style piece. Beyond the fact that a technical running shoe somehow pairs great with dark denim and a buttonup for work, damn if the kicks aren’t really comfortable as well… my Roshes have been a game changer. Free Runs and LunarGlides consistently have amazing colorways and retail for a pretty reasonable pricepoint (even in Canada where we pay $20+ per pair due to awesome import taxes). Anyway, this f/w collection from Undercover x Nike Gyakusou is the pinnacle of this movement, from soft shells to windbreakers, tights and shorts. I would take it all. Great lookbook showcasing the collection, click through for more.
