A Closer Look: South2 West8 Spring/Summer 2011

We previously showcased the lookbook from South2 West8 for their spring/summer 2011 collection. I don’t know what it is that I like so much about the label, but their obscure interpretations of the heritage outdoors style just works for me. Although I don’t think I could wear 3/4 of their stuff I can really appreciate it for what it is. I just like how far they take things, such as a tie dye hooded sweat poncho. Here is a closer look at pieces from the spring/summer collection that were key favourites…

COALBLACK Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook

With the kind of temperate-climate styling that suits a spring/summer collection for us westcoasters, I’m definitely feeling the looks shown here by Japanese label COALBLACK… and since we’ve started motorcycle season a bit early this year, staging this lookbook in a dingy bar/garage is right up my alley. Good relaxed-fit basics make up the bulk of this collection, and from the denim to the vests everything works nicely together… click through for the rest.

A Closer Look: Supreme Spring/Summer 2011 Pt. 1

Here’s part one of an in-depth look at Supreme‘s s/s 2011 offerings, which is definitely as strong a top-to-bottom collection as you would expect from the NYC legends. Supreme remains the bottom line in streetwear, and probably the only brand that would fall under that category with timeless grown-man styles that encompass so many subcultures. Keep reading for more, part two on its way.

Gitman Vintage Spring/Summer 2011

Here is a look at Gitman Vintage for the spring/summer 2011 season. With the Vintage collection seeing its 5th season on the market, they have looked back to spring/summer 1986 season for inspiration. This collection sees the use of pastel oxfords in solids and stripes, lightweight chambrays, Indian cotton madras, the dishtowel pattern cottons, and selected linens. Premiering for the s/s ’11 season is the ‘Jungle Bros.’ collection (dedicated post shown previously) and the ‘Sisters’ range for women. The spring/summer 2011 collection is available @ Outlooks… full looks after the jump.

Gitman Vintage ‘Jungle Bros’ Collection S/S 2011

Here is a look at the ‘Jungle Bros’ collection from the Gitman Vintage spring/summer 2011 range. We showed a small preview of this collection previously, but here is a look at the official run. The line is comprised of the camouflage shirt and two leopard prints; definitely not for everyone, but it is nice to see Gitman thinking outside the box and having some fun. Full Vintage collection preview to come…

Apolis Standard Issue Looks Spring 2011

Apolis have just released their new  ‘Standard Issue’ looks for the spring 2011 season. The collection consists of the label’s more basic pieces, with a large majority of it being made in Los Angeles. The looks and pieces are very solid, with a mix of work, military and utilitarian styling which the label is know well for. I love the field jacket and service blazer, and while I’m not usually one for polos i really like the chambray collar polo in the khaki colour. These are all great looking additions to the Standard Issue collection from the Apolis camp, keep reading for individual pieces from the collection…
