Our Legacy Spring/Summer 2011

Tres Bien has just received their first run of the Our Legacy spring/summer 2011 ‘Observations’ collection. The pieces are simplistic and clean but slightly more casual than previous seasons. I really like the color range, subtle colors like greens, blues and greys done on classic style 40’s and 50’s ¬†shirts, sweats, chinos and shorts. I love the wearability of the range, no fuss whatsoever just clean classic looks. Keep reading for more…

Neighborhood S/S 2011 1st Collection Lookbook

Here’s the lookbook for Neighborhood‘s first round of s/s 11 offerings, a collection entitled ‘Flash Back.’ Between the western-inspired styling, the finishing of the photos, and the strong collabs with the likes of Porter and Crazy Pig Design, this is definitely another winner from the Japanese label. Nice to see a lookbook that masterfully rides the line between art and catalog, which can be counted as a success in product presentation… click though for more.

Steven Alan x Nike Sportswear

This was a bit of a surprise to see, Steven Alan and Nike Sportswear joining forces to produce a 4 shoe capsule collection. Alan has taken four classic Nike models, Magma, Talache, Toki and Lava’s, adding and subtracting small touches here and there. My favorite is the Magma model in Carmel pictured above. Balmain Fall/Winter 2011

Here is a preview of the Balmain collection for fall/winter 2011. I am really feeing the shearling lined jackets, which is prominently seen throughout f/w 11 collections. The styling is super on point with great layering and pairing of fits, I like the full length jackets paired with slim pants tucked into socks/boots (which I am not always a fan of). Here is a look at a line that we haven’t seen here on the old blawg before, Edun with a preview of their fall/winter 2011 collection. Run by Bono’s wife Alison Hewson, the label takes an ethical approach to fashion, with 80% of their collections being made in Africa in order to promote sustainable business practices. Here’s their fall/winter 2011 collection that features great looks comprised of a good mix of casual and dressier looks. Keep reading for more looks…

Junya Wantanabe Fall/Winter 2011

Another one of our favourite collections has just finished showing at Paris Fashion week, Junya Wantanabe and his fall/winter 2011 collection. The showing is nothing short of amazing once again, with the collection growing off previous seasons of outdoors style with the f/w ’11 collection being a bit more refined and dressy. The focal points of the collection are the outerwear and knits, both utilizing great mixes of pattern, mostly Fair Isle and Icelandic patterns. Styled to perfection again, with great layering, mix of pattern and textures seen throughout the entire collection. Keep reading for the more looks…

Adam Kimmel Fall/Winter 2011

Oh goodness. Adam Kimmel‘s f/w 2011 collection, shown in Paris yesterday, is a full-blown show stopper. Maybe the best American menswear designer going, he cites time spent in our Pacific Northwest as inspiration for this line, based around the notion of ‘backwoods motorcycle punk’ (an aethetic Brendan and I can both definitely appreciate). The collection is styled immaculately, never looking like there was too much thought, with pieces that shouldn’t go together fitting in perfectly. ¬†Boots, denim, jumpsuits, you name it, Kimmel destroys it… count this as my pick of the f/w 11 shows thus far for sure… click through for more.
