The line consists of two backpacks, one ‘teardrop’ style and one rucksack as well as a full leather tote or ‘Carry Bag’ and the ‘Split Keyring’ key holder. Muttonhead Collective 2010/11 Releases

It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Muttonhead Collective, a Canadian fashion collective based out of Toronto. The line has a strong concept of locally constructed and hand made pieces, produced in sustainable and recycled fabrics, in unisex styles with no gender restrictions. The styles and colours used throughout the collection are classic and simple, meant to outlast trends season after season. For their 2010/11 collection the line has produced some amazing looking outerwear and innerwear styles, such as the military inspired parkas, re-cycled fiber poncho, equestrian style knee patched leggings and a beautifully simple pull-over hoodie, just to name a few. The collection also features a “Ready Mades” line of one of a kind pieces done in left over and recycled materials.

To celebrate the release of the 2010/11 collection Addiction Boutique, (587 Johnson St) in Victoria will be hosting the release party on Wednesday Sept 15th from 6-9pm. If you are in town come down to check out the collection and show some support for Canadian made and designed products. Hope to see you there, and keep reading for a preview of the rest of the 2010/11 collection…

NY Fashion Week – Band of Outsiders Spring/Summer 2011

Scott Sternberg’s Band of Outsiders is a line you can trust to stick to its aesthetic season after season, which is definitely a good thing. Many lines play the trends and change to suit the perceived market, but BOA’s place in menswear is locked down: casual prep that never goes out of style, and simple, wearable clothes that mix and match easily. This s/s 2011 presentation from NY fashion week  looks good top to bottom, with plenty of drawstrings and short-cut everything… yet again, a unique and dominant collection from Sternberg. GANT by Michael Bastian – A Love Story

Video presentation will be at the forefront of many promotional packages from here on out, and GANT by Michael Bastian has made a serious effort to impress with this short film entitled A Love Story, showcasing the designer’s spring/summer 2011 collection for the label. The 1950’s/60’s-inspired piece works perfectly, with this aesthetic already thoroughly imbedded in the popular psyche by the Mad Men craze along with current trending in fashion. I really like the range of looks shown, and the male actor’s side part was razor sharp… this is the standard other lines should aspire to when creating their video lookbooks.
